What is Chiropractic?
Chirorpractic was founded and developed in 1895 and has become the largest drugless form of healthcare in the United States.
Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that your nervous system controls the function of virtually every cell, tissue, organ, and system of your body. Your nervous system consists of your brain, spinal cord, and all the nerves of your body. Physical, emotional, and chemical stresses can cause irritation to your nervous system. This creates subluxations. Subluxations are misalignments of the vertebrae (your back bones). Subluxation cause an interference within the communication network between your brain and body. By interfering with the communication between the brain and the rest of the body, a vertebral subluxation leads to improper electrical impulses which can lead to poor health. If these misalignments remain, nerve impulses are slowed or misinterpreted, and disease occurs.
As a chiropractor, we rid the body of such subluxations by various spinal adjusting techniques. These adjustment heal the body from the inside out, as it is intended to be. Chiropractic is the science of locating these areas of spinal subluxations, the art of correcting them, and the philosophy of healing naturally. When spinal function is improved, nervous system function (health) will improve too.
